Des Very Important Parson is a professional, small-scale Parson Russell Terrier breeder based in Préaux, 07290 in the Ardèche region of France. We are professional and structured in our work, while remaining firmly focused on thoughtful breeding, where every dog is considered as an individual. Our dogs live in an exceptional natural environment in the Ardèche countryside, an ideal setting for a true terrier.
Our aim is to preserve what makes the Parson Russell Terrier unique : an alert, intelligent, courageous dog, close to people and able to adapt to family life, while retaining the physical and mental qualities and natural abilities of the breed. We do not breed for volume. Every dog in our breeding programme enjoys a full and enriching life that extends far beyond reproduction. Litters are thoughtfully planned and kept at a carefully managed level. Our breeding dogs are DNA identified and screened for the main hereditary conditions known and testable in the breed. No breeder can guarantee that a dog will never develop a health issue, but we take our responsibility seriously.
For us, producing a beautiful, healthy puppy is not enough. The first weeks of a puppy’s life are crucial. This is why we place great emphasis on socialisation and emotional balance. Our puppies grow up in a family environment and are used to children. Gradually, they are introduced to everyday noises, car journeys, outings, and town and country environments. Each puppy has its own personality, and our role is to provide the strongest possible foundations.
Over the years, our dogs have been awarded in both conformation and working disciplines, with titles including French Champion, Luxembourg Champion, Swiss Champion, Monaco Champion, Croatian Champion, Slovenian Champion, Italian Champion, and various International Show and Beauty titles. Among our most prestigious results : Saucisse des Very Important Parson, World Champion2024 in Zagreb; Oupper des Very Important Parson, Vice World Champion2024 ; Unter des Very Important Parson, Vice World Champion 2026 in Bologna, Italy.
We take great care in choosing the right families. The Parson is an extraordinary dog but not suitable for every lifestyle. We take time to talk with each prospective family to understand their lifestyle and expectations.
Enquiries and reservations for planned litters are often made before the puppies are born. Before birth, we discuss each family’s main criteria. Once the puppies are born and can be clearly identified, selection is made from photographs in reservation order, in line with the agreed criteria.
A reservation is confirmed with a deposit. If no puppy matching the agreed criteria is available, the deposit is fully refunded. Some of our puppies may go to families living abroad. Export conditions may differ from those applying in France, depending on the destination country. These requirements are always discussed on a case-by-case basis with families. Depending on our travel schedule, it may sometimes be possible to arrange collection along our route or in an agreed city.
